an Affiliate program?
Getting
started with your account at AffiliateCurry is simple
and does not require any programming knowledge at all. It’s a 3-step procedure:
a)
Get
the ‘Tracking Code’
b)
Create
the program
c)
Create
an advertisement link.
After you
log in there is a “Tracking Code” to be put on the action page of your website.
Tracking code is nothing but a small piece of HTML code which helps us to track
when a Sale or Lead has occurred from an affiliate directed visitor
However, there are separate codes for sale and lead.
3) How do I get the ‘Tracking Code’?
Click on
the button that says ‘Get the Tracking Code’ and it takes you to the page
stating the codes for sale and for lead program. For Lead –

passed from the calling page would be $url. This can pass email id, name or anything else as long
as the variable name it is passed by is url.
For Sale –

width="1" height="1>, the fields required to be passed from
the calling page would be $url
and $saleamnt.
4) How to create
an Affiliate program?
Click on
the link Create Program which navigates you to a
form which the merchant requires to fill.

The
first block is the program URL, which as the name
suggests is the ID of your program. (Do not forget to begin the URL with http://)

The
next step is filling the description field. This is especially important since
it is here that you tell your affiliate the specifics about your program, the commission offered and other such important
information.
The
Commissions block gives you an option of mentioning the commission for click,
lead and sale differently. However
for the two e-mail options, you can either select both or one or ignore them
completely.
The
affiliate approval can be either manual or automatic. After you
are done click the submit button.
The
advertisement link is the ad you create for the affiliate to use. The options
provided are:
Text – A text ad is a simple text link
describing the product/service. The advertising link will be a description
under the link in the text format.
Banner – As the name suggests, a Banner
ad is in the form of a poster or large photograph displaying the
product/service. The supported formats are .gif ,
.jpg, .png .
Flash – A flash Ad is shown on the
screen of the viewer as a moving Text or picture of the product/service .Type
the URL, dimension and quality of your .swf file and
create a flash ad.
Pop-up
advertisements –
If you want your ads to open in a new window, Create
your ads as pop-up or pop-under.
You can
choose to add as many links as you want; however creating one link is
mandatory.
Click on
the link given under advertising links for creating an ad.
For Text,
Click on New Text Ad button & the window displays a form
with three fields:
URL: This is
the Destination URL to which the Text Ad will lead
Text: Short description of your
Product/Service
Description: This
includes the details about the Link.
For Banner,
Click on
New Graphic Ad & the window displays two fields:
Banner: Type the URL of the banner here.
URL: Here you must input the
Destination URL to which the banner will lead.
For Flash,
Click on
New Flash Ad & the window displays three fields:
SWF URL: This is the link that you must
insert in your flash. This is required for tracking to be correct.
URL: The address of the SWF flash.
Dimension: Mention the
width and height of the flash.
For Pop-up,
Click on
New Pop Ad & the window displays four fields: Pop-Up Type: If you choose the Pop-Up the ad will be opened in a new window and this window will be on the top of the client window. If you choose Under Pop-Up, the new window will open under the client window.
URL: Write the URL of the page that
will be used as Pop-Up Ad.
Dimensions:
Provides the size of Pop-Up window Scrollbars: Determines whether the Pop-Up window will show scrollbar or not. |
